The volume is fully bound with speckled calf covered boards with red mottled edges to the text block. On the front paste-down there is 1 label in the centre with "July 1993 the Gift of Pippa Corner". Written in ink underneath is "K.K.20". Written in pencil on the front free end-page is "£30 Vol 4 1st ed". Adjacent to this is a previous owners signature "Dixon Dyke". Stamped onto the reverse of the title page is the circular stamp with "The Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" and inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection".
