The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Volume 6. A New Edition.

The volume is fully bound with speckled calf covered boards with red mottled edges to the text block. The front paste-down has 3 labels; within the centre is a large previous owners bookplate with "Godfrey Meynell, Esqr, Maynell Langley". Pasted onto the top left corner and over the bookplate are 2 labels "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the Laurence Sterne Trust, 1986". Written in ink on the front free end page is "1769 vol 6 new edition", written in pencil underneath are bibliographers notes relating to the volume. The top right corner of the title page has been thinned where writing/signature has been removed, note the off-set ink on the adjacent leaf. Stamped onto the reverse of the title page is the circular stamp with "The Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" and inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection".
