This volume is fully bound in Marbled calf covered boards. The end-pages are comprised of single sheets of marbled paper "Shell Pattern" and all edges of the textblock are also marbled in Shell Pattern. Pasted onto the top corner of the front free end-page are 2 small white labels "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986". Written in ink on the reverse of the front free end-page is "7 Vol £2. 5. 6" & a previous owners signature "Emma Mac Dermott 1829". Pencil comments are to the top of this page and the top of the 2nd flyleaf. Written in pencil on the rear of the 2nd flyleaf are further illegible notes. Stamped on the reverse of the title page is the circular stamp with "The Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" and inside "The Kenneth Monkman Collection".
