Het Leven En De Gevoelens Van Tristram Shandy. With a kort verslag van het leven ende schriften van den Eerwaerden Heere Laurence Sterne

This volume contains volumes 1 and 2. It is bound with a leather spine and corners over boards covered in mottled paper. The front paste-down has 2 labels on the top left side "From the Library of Kenneth Monkman at Shandy Hall" with underneath "Property of the L S Trust, 1986", also on this page and written in pencil is "TS 2b 1a (ref p 154 in Shandean 5). On the reverse of the title page is a circular stamp in ink with "Laurence Sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. The frontispiece is after the title and dedication page and is comprised of a full page cut of Laurence Sterne resting his head upon his right hand with underneath "Laurens Sterne, A.M. &C" with bottom right "C.F. Fritschius, fecit." The catchword is to the bottom of every page. At the end of volume 1, page 174 is a publisher's device. A small green silk (?) bookmark is located between pages 178=179 of volume 2.
