The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Volumes I and II. The Second Edition.

This volume is bound in marbled paper covered boards (Wide Combed Pattern) with a leather spine and points. Written in pencil on the front paste-down are various notes relating to the volume by KM. Stamped onto the reverse of the title pages of both volumes is a circular stamp with "Laurence sterne Trust Shandy Hall" with "The Kenneth Monkman Collection" inside. Written in ink on the rear paste down is "John George Peter Boniface just was sold the 2d of March 1807 - into the Blue Coat School. Resided with his Grandfather John George Peter in Chatham. ?? 7 June 1807 - ?". Volume I is 179 pages in length and Volume II is 182 pages in length.
